Professional Background:
Dr. Melissa Chinn is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG), specializing in gynecology and women's overall wellness. Born and raised in Seattle, she completed her medical training in California and her surgical residency in Nevada. She has been practicing medicine in the greater Seattle area since 2005, following the start of her medical career in 2001.
Dr. Chinn's osteopathic training informs her whole-person approach to healthcare. She believes that effective care requires understanding the broader context of each patient's health, experiences, and individual needs. Combining medical expertise with compassion and humor, she strives to create a supportive environment where women feel heard, respected, and involved in their care.
In 2019, Dr. Chinn focused her practice on her passion for women's wellness and gynecology, establishing Chinn GYN, PLLC, in Mount Vernon, Washington. The practice provides comprehensive women's healthcare throughout every stage of life, emphasizing personalized treatment and the importance of a strong relationship between patients and their healthcare providers.
Supporting women affected by cancer is a focus of Dr. Chinn's practice. She works with breast and gynecologic cancer survivors, women undergoing active cancer treatment, those experiencing treatment-induced menopause, women taking hormone-blocking medications, and those who have undergone preventive surgery because of elevated genetic risk. Her approach includes non-hormonal strategies for managing menopause symptoms, support for pelvic and sexual health concerns, and collaboration with oncology teams to help coordinate care in consideration of each patient's medical history and treatment plan.
Years of Practice: 21 years of experience in medical practice, gynecology, women's wellness, and individualized healthcare.
Navigate menopause and women's health concerns with personalized care that considers your whole health journey. Connect with Dr. Melissa Chinn at Chinn GYN for compassionate support with menopause symptoms, pelvic and sexual health, and non-hormonal options during and after cancer treatment.
