Missed Periods
Share
In perimenopause, the ovaries begin producing less estrogen and progesterone, the hormones responsible for regulating the menstrual cycle. This imbalance can cause irregular or missed periods. Anovulatory cycles (cycles where ovulation does not occur) become more common during this stage, leading to longer gaps between periods or skipped cycles altogether. If you have missed 3 or more periods, please see your Doctor. Missed periods during perimenopause are typically normal but should be monitored for patterns or additional symptoms that might indicate underlying health issues such as PCOS, Thyroid Disorder and other Chronic diseases.
