Cold Flushes

While it is likely you have heard of hot flashes in relation to menopause, have you noticed that you have experienced cold flashes too? They often occur after a hot flash or spontaneously. Both hot and cold flashes during menopause are the result of disrupted hypothalamic control of body temperature, driven by changes in estrogen signaling and neural circuit sensitivity. This leads to the body oscillating between heat loss and heat conservation responses, sometimes overshooting in either direction and causing uncomfortable temperature swings
